Introduction
The Iris Programme is an initiative that has been enhanced through strengthened elements of understanding regarding the abuse of women, particularly in relation to prevailing cases, with the aim of improving legal literacy among women. The programme serves as a platform for the dissemination of knowledge and information on individual rights from a legal perspective, as well as on available complaint mechanisms and support services provided to victims of violence, discrimination and injustice.
The iris flower also symbolises hope, wisdom, communication and confidence.
Programme Objective
To empower legal literacy within the community, particularly among women, and to encourage the confidence to report incidents.
To enhance understanding of significant issues relating to the abuse of women.
To provide the public with information on complaint mechanisms and support services available to victims of violence and injustice.
