Majlis Wanita dan Keluarga Negara (MWKN)

The National Women and Family Council (MWKN) is a national council established under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, serving as a key platform that brings together various stakeholders and experts in the fields of women’s empowerment and family development.

Through this council, which is chaired by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, various issues, challenges, and emerging opportunities can be identified holistically to strengthen efforts in empowering women and enhancing the family institution from social, economic, legal, and well-being perspectives.

The establishment of MWKN is also aligned with Malaysia’s commitment to advancing gender equality as outlined in the National Women’s Policy, the Women’s Development Action Plan 2025–2030 as well as international obligations under the Convention on the Eliminations of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the Beijing Declaration 1995.
